Reflecting on Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week 2020
#PfizerPartner
I’ve been taking moments to reflect on what it means to me to be living with Ulcerative Colitis.
My body has a disease that has no known cure with medicine. This reality impacts my spirit, my emotional well-being, and my physical being on a daily basis, even in remission. There is fear, there is pain, there is darkness, but amidst all of these – there is hope, beauty and endurance.
When a butterfly has a broken wing, it cannot grow another wing, much like once receiving a diagnosis, I cannot choose a life without Ulcerative Colitis.
But, guess what. The butterfly can still fly. And I can still have a beautiful life.
I was compensated by Pfizer for participating in this video. #PfizerPartner
